Fiddlewood Fields is a beautiful guest house, set in quiet, lush gardens in the city of Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

 

Owned and managed by Kurt & Ros Schwechheimer, since January 2023, the accommodation options are suitable for individuals, couples, friends and families. We are located close to St Andrew's College, St Andrew's Prep, DSG and are a short drive away from Kingswood College and Rhodes University.

SciFest Africa, South Africa's National Science Festival is held annually in March with an emphasis on promoting science, technology and innovation. Grahamstown is also home to the Albany Museum.

Cultural Sites

 

Visit the National English Literary Museum, known as one of South Africa's literary treasures. Located on the Rhodes University  campus, this impressive building has won a '5-star green' construction rating.

National Arts Festival

 

Held in June/July over 11 days ,and also known as the Grahamstown Festival, the National Arts Festival is the biggest annual celebration of the arts on the African continent.
